I see stars

There are few decorative pieces I find particularly pretty and fitting for Christmas and stars of all shapes and sizes happen to be among them. I particularly love paper stars. Here are few examples of how to decorate with stars.

Story North

Story North is a brand new web-shop run by my blog friend Samantha. Samantha is half-Icelandic but living in England where she works as a interior designer, that is when she´s not busy with Story North or posting some fabulous images on her blog, Love Nordic.  Samantha and I share VERY similar tastes and I practically crave every single item she has picked for Story North. Quite a lot of the products come from Scandinavia and few also from Iceland, from top designers Ingibjorg Hanna and Bility among others. I´m looking forward to see more design from Iceland on Story North.

Artist´s apartment in Stockholm

Artist and illustrator Mats Gustafson is the owner of this stunning apartment in Stockholm´s Södermalm area.
The vases on top of the tiled fireplace are the work of Modernist ceramists Axel Salto and Berndt Friberg among others.
In the foyer, a light by Isamu Noguchi hangs above 19th-century furnitures.
The painting on the wall above the bench is the work of Mats´s great-uncle, Birger Ljungquist.
Swedish glassworks line the studio window which has a fantastic view over Stockholm´s harbour.

This is December

I can´t remember where I got this image from (sorry!) and I don´t know where it´s taken, but I find this utterly magical.

Sweet Paul´s Christmas-Part II

Sweet Paul´s Christmas-Part I

I´m a huge fan of Sweet Paul. I might have posted some of these images before, but never mind. I love these:)

A home in Sweden

There are many details in this home that I love: the perfect combination of new designs, vintage auction finds and industrial style, the raw brick wall in the living room and the round industrial lights from Can Can which hang above the big kitchen/dining room table (not to mention the Tolix chairs and the industrial style "bar" from Moêll & Moêll!). More on this home, here.
The reindeer on the wall is the work of Lotta Rubom. The small cabinet was found at an auction.

The bed is from Ikea, the floor lamp from Olsson & Jensen.

Christmas at Nordal

I´m sorry for the lack of posts lately, as I´ve said before, life sometimes gets in the way of me attending properly to Koolandkreativ. I´ll be posting few Christmas images later today and in the next few days leading up to Christmas, but right now the weather here in the south of Iceland is so breathtakingly beautiful that it´s impossible not going out. There is fresh snow everywhere, the sun is shining and the wind is calm. The daylight is absolutely beautiful when the weather conditions are like this, especially in the twilight hours. I´m off for a bit of a brisk walk before I get back to blogging but in the meantime I hope you enjoy these images from the Danish design company Nordal.
